| Technic description
The technique of decorating glass put into practice under this name by Daum consists of applying extremely fine laminations of hot glass onto a piece, thereby creating zones of color which will be later etched cold. This technique helps avoid elaborate overlays and saves long and unnecessary steps of engraving. Although similar to Daums technique of marquetry, the lamelles-plaquettes technique does not seek to compete with the former and pursues different aims.
