Idea of Borek Sipek was that outer cracked clear glass vase symbolizes wrecks of old leaving century and millennium and central compact vase made in colour of hope - light blue symbolizes new upcoming millennium.

Technique
This unique glass object was created by Borek Sipek in 2000 as design object for upcoming 21st century and third millennium.
It was produced as limited edition of 21 pieces,hand signed by the author and each vase was accompanied with original letter of former Czechoslovak president Vaclav Havel.
From technical point of view the production of this vase had two basic steps.
First of all the inner light blue vase was blown and equipped with clear glass fixing points.
Meanwhile the outer clear glass vase was blown by another glassmaker and right after both vases were joined together hot way and fixed through fixing points.
The piece was then mechanicaly crushed with water,hammer and pressed cold air what caused many various cracks.
The cracks were flame polished,so that there were no sharp edges.
