I have made a series of blown glass pieces that contain images of urbanity. The technique i am using is called graal which allows me to make images within the glass form. Through different stages I work in different layers of the glass, resulting in a 3 dimensional effect. My work is based on the contrast between light and darkness, taking inspiration from graphic art. I have used few but strongly defined lines. My images from the urban landscape are recreated in a simplified manner. By depicting cityscapes that changes into patterns of shadow and bright highlights, I have tried to capture the noise and movement in a structured and organized landscape. The repetitions of lines and squares are creating an atmosphere of organized chaos.
