" When I worked on the design of the Two Station of the Cross, I looked a lot at small churches in the neighbouring villages. Every little church has its own stations of the cross, many of them baroque, some 19th century, I found one from 1930, and there are some from the 1960s-1970s. I took photographs and made many studies after them. The design is a collage of three different elements: silkscreened details of found stations of the cross, Indian and Italian patterns, and bits from personal sketches I had made on other occasions. I wanted the suffering Christ to be in a world that was following its own path, and that was precious at the same time. Gerhard Ribka " |
