In my work, I try to create channels of movement for the molten glass, following the laws of physics, avoiding forced direction.
I expand these forms into narrative segments and reconstruct the movement step by step, aiming at awakening the past movement from its static state and thus conveying the experience of the nature of liquid glass to viewers. |
Technique
Cast and cold worked (sliced) glass tiles and animation projected on these glass tiles from underneath, projector and DVD-player or computer.
In this piece a wave form, created by the natural movement of hot glass, is sliced up to thin slices of short time segments. The segments being animated, a short film on the movement of the hot glass is created. In the work, the animation is projected among the actual slices, creating an undivided continuum.
