Molten, liquid glass has the unique capacity of being independently plastic, matching the dynamics and creativity of nature in movement. However, the movement of hot glass always slows down. The quick moment of movement becomes irrevocable history and can only be interpreted from the form of the set glass objects.
In my work, I try to create channels of movement for the molten glass, following the laws of physics, avoiding forced direction. I expand these forms into narrative segments and reconstruct the movement step by step, aiming at awakening the past movement from its static state and thus conveying the experience of the nature of liquid glass to viewers. |
Technique
Free blown clear glass balls divided in two halfs by an exceedingly thin film of glass. The structure of the film is created due to the natural vibrating movement of glass when blown out.
