| I use the cire perdue process in my work to make large, hollow, kiln cast pieces. It is not a direct process. If I want to create new colors, or combine colors to see how they react with each other, I need to do tests. I decided to design a small, functional object to test color combinations for my larger kiln cast glass pieces. I developed these "anatomical shot glasses" on a whim. The idea made me laugh. It was important to me that the objects function as sculpture as well as drinking glasses, and that they could be displayed both right side up and upside down. Theyre also sexy and fun to fondle ! |
