Fronted by vocalist Carolyn Leonhart, the group LYN LEON is a marriage of disparate styles. Leonhart is the daughter of bassist/composer Jay Leonhart, and she adds a danceable pop flair over the Euro-stylings of percussionists Stephan Diethelm and Mathias Eser (whose credits include "glass" and "mallets," explaining Lyn Leon's subtitle of "Swiss Percussion Group"). The guest rhythm section of bassist Wolf Zwiauer and drummer Kaspar Rast aids the core trio throughout the CD Glass Lounge (Percords). Hummable numbers like "Would You Catch Me" (featured) showcase the compositional sensibilities of Diethelm and Eser (both of whom also play keyboards), plus the soaring voice of Leonhart, a former Steely Dan backing vocalist and * perhaps * future star.
